Good morning, Lowell.

The Lowell School Building Committee met November 20 to review Phase 3 progress, note safety issues with new door hardware, and set the student return for the renovated 1922 building on January 5; they also examined a $39.85M funding request — which includes $14.75M for extra contingency — and scheduled a January 22 meeting to address remaining concerns with the elevator and exterior doors.

Today, the Healey-Driscoll Administration and Massachusetts Congressional delegation announced that five regional transit authorities and the MBTA have secured $105.7 million in federal funding to modernize bus fleets — with $7.2 million designated for the LRTA to buy six fully accessible hybrid-electric buses.
