Good morning, Lowell.

On October 4th, Lowell will host a day of fall events including a Volunteer Fair at Dutton Street Market from 11:00AM—2:00PM, Open Streets Lowell on Merrimack Street from 12:00—4:00PM, Western Avenue Open Studios from 12:00—5:00PM, and Hawktoberfest at LeLacheur Park from 12:00—5:00PM. A free shuttle will connect venues while more than 20 local organizations offer volunteer opportunities and community information.

Arthur T. Demoulas, fired as Market Basket CEO on September 10th, filed a countersuit today seeking reinstatement and arguing that the board acted unlawfully—he did not ask for money and his claim also raises issues about family trust disputes and board misconduct.

Lowell Mayor Danny Rourke shared his thoughts on last night's subcommittee meeting and the Markley Group proposal on today's Daily Pulse—he also revealed that a major Frontrunner City announcement will be made in two weeks.
