CRIME NEWS

  • On September 4, 2025, Lowell police responded to reports of a juvenile brandishing an air gun — officers identified the suspect and are investigating the incident.  Inside Lowell

CULTURE NEWS

  • Lowell Management Group will host the Boston Pops: Holiday Pops at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium on December 14 at 2:30 pm, where local audiences will enjoy holiday classics and special tunes led by Conductor Keith Lockhart (appointed in 1995). Santa Claus will make an appearance at the concert finale, with a traditional holiday sing-along to close the show.  Inside Lowell

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Danielle McFadden met with LZ Nunn at Wellpoint Studios to discuss new developments for Project LEARN and explained how students learn about the programs—the philanthropic initiative called the Lowell Schools Fund.  Inside Lowell

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, Elections Director Will Rosenberry reported that 123 people voted in person at the Senior Center and 158 mail ballots were requested since early voting started Saturday, a tiny share of the 77,125 registered voters. He noted this turnout is below 0.4%—suggesting most voters will cast their ballots on election day.  Inside Lowell
  • A review of 2025 campaign yard signs explains how candidates in Districts 4, 5, 7 and 8 use colors, fonts, and symbols to attract voters—each design showing a mix of strengths and weaknesses that may affect local support.
