At Lowell City Hall on Wednesday night, the Election Commission voted (3-2) to allow a signature listing a post office box to stay on Sherri Barboza's petition for November, leaving her on the ballot against Kim Scott.
Commissioner James Pope later clarified the vote amid initial confusion, and Scott may appeal the decision under state law soon.
