Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 15th of May.
Good morning, Lowell.
🎓 Education
Two local UMass Lowell students were awarded scholarships by the MassCPAs Educational Foundation’s 2025 Scholarship Program during the Connect 2025 event on May 6—funding that will help cover tuition, books, and other expenses as they pursue accounting studies.
The scholarships are fully supported by donations and aim to remove financial barriers for future CPAs.
🏛️ Government
Last November, fewer than 7,600 of 75,300 registered voters cast ballots in Lowell — about 10% participated.
The November 4 election is a key chance for residents to decide on schools, public safety and local projects — every vote shapes our community.
