- ➤ UMass Lowell’s multichannel camera—launched on May 3 from New Zealand on a NASA balloon mission—studied natural airglow to improve understanding of the ionosphere. - ➤ Last Friday, the Lowell Police Department, Officer Winn’s family and city officials dedicated a memorial Hero Sign at Ecumenical Plaza on Lewis Street to honor the fallen officer +who died in the line of duty in 1971+. City officials said similar markers will be installed at other sites on future anniversaries +to help keep his sacrifice alive+. Inside Lowell
- ➤ Today, the City of Lowell and Lowell Public Schools are at odds over next fiscal year's spending as a City Manager letter shows combined funds of $271,489,114 for FY 2025—while a School Committee proposal calls for a $4-million cut in city cash.
