- ➤ Lowell Police and the Middlesex Sheriff's Office will host a Gift Cards for Guns event on Saturday May 10 from 8 a.m. to Noon at the International Charismatic Church Family on 105 Princeton Boulevard — the initiative will let residents safely turn in unneeded firearms and ammo while earning grocery gift cards from $25 to $200 for each. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ UMass Lowell and its partners are launching a 16-week study to help 120 local residents fight food insecurity by providing healthy meal kits and nutrition education, funded by a $185,000 grant. The study splits participants into two groups, with one receiving three meal kits per week and both groups undergoing health checks at UMass Lowell’s Health Assessment Lab — tracking key health metrics.
