EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lowell High School seniors Deborah Goncalves and S Naung Naung Lay have been awarded UMass Lowell Tsongas Scholarships that cover full tuition, fees, room & board for four years of college. They will pursue mechanical engineering and exercise science, drawing on their strong academic and community service records.  Inside Lowell
  • Brady McCarron from downtown launched his campaign this morning to represent Lowell, Dracut, Tyngsboro, and Dunstable for a Greater Lowell Regional Technical High School Committee slot. The race now includes four candidates while current members Fred Bahou and Ralph Hogan are expected to run for re-election.  Inside Lowell

  • Kevin Howe, a DPW foreman with 12 years of service in Lowell, was honored as a Hometown Hero by Wellpoint today at DPW headquarters — his work keeping roads safe during storms and year-round was celebrated.  Inside Lowell

SPORTS NEWS

  • Lowell Girls Lacrosse is launching its 2026 season on Sunday, April 12 with over 105 players competing in different age groups from Littles to Grade 7-8. The season includes both MYL Classic and MYL Select League games at Westford and other nearby fields (players comprise both returning and new members).  Inside Lowell
