About this event
The Italian literary canon reflects the centrality of Jewish thought and writing in Italian culture. In this class, we will discuss the main figures of the intellectual Jewish milieu in 20th-century Italy, focusing on texts of Natalia Ginzburg, Elsa Morante, Lalla Romano, and more. We will ask about these figures’ relationship to their Jewish identity and how they explore it in their texts, unfolding Italy's painful history.
