Suzanne Matson As Creatures Launch

About this event

As Creatures (11/12/26 from Cloudbank Books) is the third poetry volume from Suzanne

Matson (Sea Level, 1990; Durable Goods, 1993, Alice James Books). The poems move across many years of time and memory, charting travels and life transitions from becoming a mother to burying a mother. They chronicle seismic shifts of loss, as well as the beauties and gifts of everyday life. The natural world serves as an everpresent backdrop, reminding us of our interdependencies and vulnerabilities “as creatures.” Matson’s six books (including four novels) have collected reviews from a wide range of newspapers, magazines, and literary journals, excerpted under each title at her website . Her forthcoming (11/3/26) work of nonfiction, Winnowing , is from Duke University Press.

Hosted in collaboration with Boston College Department of English. Light refreshments will be served following the program. Copies of As Creatures will be available for sale and signing.
