About this event

Speaker: Dan Breen

235 years ago this month, the new United States government sent a military expedition into the Ohio country to assert federal authority over the Shawnee and Miami Nations. What followed was a humiliating defeat for the young U.S. army. It is hardly ever taught in textbooks, but in this presentation, we will delve into the factors that sparked one of the 18th century's greatest examples of determined native resistance.
