LIMITED SPACES: Sign Up

Join Lincoln Historical Society for a special guided tour of Elm Brook Hill (also known as “The Bloody Angle”) in Minute Man National Historical Park , where the story of April 19, 1775 takes on a different perspective. The events at Elm Brook Hill, Captain William Smith’s home, and Hartwell Tavern unfolded on Lincoln soil—yet Lincoln is often overlooked in the popular accounts of the opening battles of the American Revolution.

Leading the tour is Donald L. Hafner , longtime Minute Man Park volunteer, university professor and historical interpreter, author of several books on 18th-century Lincoln, and a gifted storyteller. Dressed in traditional period clothing, Don will bring this pivotal moment to life with the warmth, insight, and engaging style that make his talks so memorable.

Walking distance round-trip from the parking lot will be a bit more than a mile. Dress for the weather!

Pre-Registration Required. Limited Spaces Available.
