Join us on November 12 th at 7:00 pm, when Pulitzer-Prize winning author and Needham native Eric Moskowitz tells us about The Hardest, Longest Race .
It’s 1909, and America is home to 253 automakers, all trying to capitalize on the emerging demand for cars. But when playboy millionaire M. Robert Guggenheim announces an audacious “Ocean to Ocean” contest from New York City to the Seattle World’s Fair, only three domestic companies are brassy enough to show up at the starting line: Acme, Ford, and Shawmut — a promising Boston carmaker fighting for survival after a factory fire. They are joined by a sleek international entry, the Itala. It’s a race packed with intrigue, drama, and even foul play! To find out who wins, you’ll have to join us at the History Center on November 12th !
Admission is free and open to everyone, but Registration is requested. Registration below (free ticket link).
