About this event
The MIT Policy Hackathon is convened by MIT's Institute for Data, Systems, and Society and MIT's Technology and Policy Program which aims to address relevant societal challenges via data and policy analysis. This hackathon allows participants to work in teams to develop creative policy solutions to problems posed by governmental and industry partners. Historically, hackathon participants have come from a wide range of backgrounds, from public policy to data science to engineering, and challenges have covered various topics. Winning hackathon teams have gone on to partner with their sponsors and take home cash prizes!
We will also have two keynote speakers to open and close the 2026 Policy Hackathon. Start your hackathon journey with insight and inspiration from leading voices in policy, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Our keynote speakers bring deep expertise and purpose. Whether you're building your first project or launching the next big idea, their experiences will set the stage for an impactful and engaging event.
