About this event

As the United States marks its 250th anniversary, Winsor celebrates the extraordinary contributions of this country’s immigrant composers. Discover why Erich Korngold 's soaring melodies became the sound of classic Hollywood. Experience Silkroad Ensemble member Kinan Azmeh 's haunting Jisareen , dedicated to the memory of his grandparents' hometown in Syria. Be moved by renowned Cuban American composer Tania León 's Elegía por Paul Robeson , a powerful tribute to an American icon. Relish the fiery rhythms of Astor Piazzolla 's Grand Tango for cello and piano, and be reminded why Irving Berlin 's timeless songs became part of America's soundtrack.
