About this event
Join our library staff plus wonderful local high school volunteers for a 2-day chess camp over the holiday break.
In the first meeting, kids will be reviewing the basics, like how to move pieces, castling, promotion, check/checkmate/stalemate, and completing some puzzle challenges. Hopefully there will also be time to get a game or two in at the end.
The second meeting will be all about playing the game of chess. Beginners are welcome, more advanced players are also welcome!
This event is for kids ages 7-10 years old. Registration is required. When you sign up, you are signing up for both days.
Listed by Newton Free Public Library, gathered by the Lowell events calendar.
