Paint & Play Ukulele Night at Kyoto

We’ve got strum-thing fun planned! Join Premier Paint Party with Dave Daykin for approximately 2½ hours of painting, laughs, and questionable musical talent—and take home your own real, playable ukulele!

This is a fun night out, not music school. No painting, building, or musical experience is needed. Dave will guide you through the evening with music, jokes, and plenty of encouragement.

Two basic designs—with plenty of room to make yours your own

We’ll teach two beginner-friendly designs: Blooms and Palm-Tree Sunset. Follow along with either featured design or add your own creative spin. We’ll have a selection of stencils and lots of different paint colors available, so your ukulele does not have to look exactly like the examples. The event photo shows our two starting points; your colors and finishing touches are up to you.

Paint it. Put it together. Attempt to play it.

We’ll start by painting and decorating the ukulele body. Once the paint is dry, we’ll work through attaching the bridge, adding the strings, and tuning. Then we’ll attempt a simple beginner song together. Will we sound like a professional ukulele orchestra? Probably not. Will we have a ridiculous amount of fun trying? Absolutely.

This is an introductory craft-and-music experience using a DIY ukulele kit. We’re aiming for a fun first strum, not a concert performance. New strings can take time to settle, so your instrument may need additional tuning after you take it home.

Your $60 ticket includes

• One wooden DIY ukulele kit to paint, assemble, and keep

• All paints, brushes, and supplies needed for the activity

• Access to a selection of stencils and plenty of paint colors

• Step-by-step guidance for the two featured designs

• Help with assembly, stringing, and tuning

• A simple beginner group song

• Approximately 2½ hours of creative fun with Premier Paint Party

Food, drinks, and arrival

Food and beverages are available for purchase separately from Kyoto and are not included in your ticket. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early so you can settle in before we begin at 7 PM. If you plan to have dinner, arrive about an hour early. We expect to finish around 9:30 PM; timing can vary slightly with the group.

Seating is first-come, first-served. Arrive together if you would like to sit with friends, and let the host know about your group when you check in. We’ll help with seating as space allows. No printed ticket is needed; check in under the name used for your reservation.

Ages 18+ and the Premier Paint Party atmosphere

This event is for adults ages 18 and older. Expect adult language, playful innuendos, and “that’s what she said” jokes. Bring a sense of humor and come ready for a relaxed, social night out.

What to wear and what to bring

All activity materials are provided. Wear something you won’t mind getting paint on, and keep personal belongings away from the painting area. Premier Paint Party and the venue are not responsible for paint spills or damage to clothing or personal items. Restaurant lighting and seating arrangements may vary.

Ticket and cancellation policy

Each ticket reserves one seat and one ukulele kit. All sales are final. Refunds are only available if Premier Paint Party cancels or moves the event. Requests within 48 hours and no-shows are not eligible for credit or rescheduling. Tickets are transferable if someone else would like to attend in your place.
