About this event
Have you ever dug up something and wondered what it was?
The oldest house in Acton has a tailings pile that we will screen to recover and document artifacts! These objects will potentially interpret the daily lives of Mill Corner starting in 1702 and potential ties to the events of April 19, 1775.
No experience is needed as training and tools will be provided. This is for adult volunteers only.
The project is sponsored by Iron Work Farm of Acton, stewards of the Faulkner House and Jones Tavern. The project will be directed by Kimberley Connors, former Acton Historical Commission Chair, and founder of Archaeology Outreach.
What to bring:
• Good work gloves (leather recommended)
• Water bottle
• A snack (optional)
• Closed-toe shoes (boots preferred)
• Hat, Long pants and long sleeves (recommended but optional)
We will provide all other necessary tools and training.
Sign up for one or more sessions at Archeology Volunteer Form .
