This seminar explores how the physical characteristics of electronic devices can be used to build more secure and trustworthy authentication systems. As passwords and conventional biometrics face growing threats from spoofing, credential theft, and hardware-level attacks, the session examines approaches that go beyond software, including multi-angle 3D facial recognition, temperature sensing with resistive random-access memory (ReRAM), and hardware-assisted cryptographic key generation. Live demonstrations will show how these concepts work in practice, and the session closes with a look at future directions in hardware security, biometric authentication, and privacy-preserving technologies.

About the speaker

Amisha Bagri is a PhD student in informatics and cyber systems at Northern Arizona University, where her research focuses on hardware-based security, biometric cryptography, and privacy-preserving authentication. Her current work investigates ReRAM-based sensing, multi-factor authentication architectures, and secure key generation for intelligent and connected devices. She was previously a research intern at High Entropy Security, where she contributed to hardware-anchored authentication and secure key-exchange protocols.
