About this event
November Watercolor Workshop Autumn Among the Birches!
Celebrate the beautiful colors of New England this fall with a watercolor workshop led by French artist Emmanuelle Le Gal. The striking white bark of birch trees, contrasted with the vibrant colors of autumn leaves, makes for a beautiful and inspiring subject to paint.
In this workshop, participants will learn how to simplify a woodland scene into essential shapes and values, preserve the natural white of the birch trunks using a special technique, and build depth through successive layers of transparent watercolor glazing. By exploring light, shadow, and the contrast between warm autumn colors and luminous white tree trunks, participants will discover how a few thoughtful techniques can bring a landscape to life.
The goal is not to create a perfect painting, but to slow down, observe, and enjoy capturing the feeling of a place and a moment through color and light.
Join Emmanuelle for an evening of creativity in a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Through live demonstrations and hands-on guidance, you’ll explore watercolor techniques and create your own woodland painting.
Beginners and experienced artists are all welcome! Whether you’re just beginning your watercolor journey or looking for fresh inspiration, this workshop offers an opportunity to relax, experiment, and enjoy the process of painting.
