About this event

Lady Gaga has a Rilke quote tattooed on her arm. He inspired artists from W.H. Auden and Allen Ginsberg all the way to Jimin of BTS, and achieved cult status in Europe long before that concept even existed. Rainer Maria Rilke died of leukemia at age 51 in 1926. A hundred years later, his poetry still finds new readers and inspires new art.

Join three faculty experts who will read Rilke's poems in Ger man and in English and reveal new layers and connections to Rilke's work through a variety of approaches focused on ecological/environmen tal, scientific, spiritual/theological and musical dimensions.
