About this event

The Knight Science Journalism Program at MIT is excited to welcome Dr. Jay Fishman, Director, Transplant Infectious Disease & Compromised Host Program, Massachusetts General Hospital and Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School for a seminar on Xenotransplantation.

Xenotransplantation of organs from swine into human recipients for treatment of organ failure has entered clinical trials. The risks associated with xenotransplantation seem manageable but are incompletely defined. Dr. Fishman will discuss some of the practical and ethical considerations, as well as approaches for the future.

Please contact Claire Sadar if you are interested in attending.
