About this event

Each November, children and families across Germany celebrate Martinstag (St. Martin’s Day) with lanterns, songs, and community. The tradition honors St. Martin of Tours, who is remembered for an act of generosity: sharing half of his cloak with a man in need. Today, Martinstag is a beloved children’s celebration centered on kindness, sharing, and bringing light to others .

Our students will join in this special tradition with a Laternenumzug , carrying lanterns they’ve made themselves and singing traditional Martinstag songs they’ve learned in class as they make their way through the school.

The lantern walk begins at 11:50 AM. Come cheer on our students and watch them light up the halls! 🏮✨
