Mesopotamian Creation Myths with Nate Ramsayer

About this event

We’ve all heard the creation story in the book of Genesis—possibly numerous times throughout our lives—but how well do you really know it? On which day did God create the Garden of Eden? Did he truly speak everything into existence, or did God create the heavens and earth by killing a primordial sea serpent and hacking up its carcass? If this sounds silly, then why do the books of Psalms, Isaiah, and Job tell us it happened this way?

Join biblical scholar and archaeologist Nate Ramsayer for the fourth installment of his six-part series Before the Bible: Legends and Myths That Inspired Israelite Scripture , as we look at various ancient concepts of the formation of the universe, covering the multiple perspectives from the Bible, as well as the Babylonian version. Feel free to join, even if you missed previous sessions!
