About this event
Join fellow Cornellians for a delightful Sunday afternoon performance of Mahler’s Symphony Number 4. It explores the journey from earthly life to heavenly bliss. Accompanying the approximately 30 professional musicians on stage, will be guest soloist Sara Heaton. Ms. Heaton is a soprano who performs with the New York Metropolitan Opera.
Symphony by the Sea is the premier professional orchestra north of Boston. Established in 1981 by the late Royston Nash, former Music Director of London’s D’Oyly Carte Opera Company, it provided a group of talented professional musicians a local alternative to community orchestras. Built in 1920 as an 800-seat theater in the grand style of 1920’s movie palaces, the Cabot Theater combines classic design with contemporary sound, HVAC, seating and other amenities.
On entering the theater, please sign in at the Cornell table on your right. General seating. No reserved seats.
We also will have an optional restaurant meal together. Details will be sent to each person registering for the concert.
