About this event

While fulfilling different roles, journalists, religious leaders, and social workers are often at the forefront of attending the lives and stories of people experiencing vulnerability. Join Akiba Solomon (senior editor at The Marshall Project), Rocío Calvo (founding director, Latinx Leadership Initiative, BC School of Social Work) and the Rev. Liz Walker (Founder of “Can We Talk… network) for an interdisciplinary conversation on reporting and interacting with vulnerable populations. From how to do so with care, building trust and obtaining meaningful consent to avoiding retraumatization and protecting your own well-being, the conversation will cover practical tools and ethical considerations when doing this type of work. Moderated by Andrea Patiño Contreras (video journalist, Institute for the Liberal Arts fellow).

Listed by Boston College Events (Localist), gathered by the Lowell events calendar.
